Easter Day!

We started Easter day bright and early (my kids do not sleep past 7:00am on ANY holiday!).  The girls delved into the Easter Bunny's deliveries, and we headed outside to look for eggs. We learned yesterday that Caden especially loves the hard boiled eggs. He likes to crack them, then stick his finger all the way to the middle, squishing as much yolk in his hand as he can possibly fit. Wished I would have had my camera for that episode but my darn battery was charging.

Kendall found the golden egg!

Then we headed off to the Viszla dog show in Crosby. There were only a couple of Viszla's at the show, but we had a blast watching the agility competitions. I do love Border Collie's. I cannot believe we accomplished all this and still managed to make breakfast at McDonald's. Amazing! We leisurely got dressed then headed out for our Easter festivities with friends and family. Of course we HAD to take pictures before we left. This is what I ended up with after much frustration with my auto-focus, until I finally realized that my camera as on MACRO. Who did that??! And, why the heck did it take me so long to figure it out??! I guess they are not really mistakes if you learn from them right? (at least that's I tell my kids. ha.) By then the kids were just ready to go.

We spent Easter day at a family friends house in Tarkington. Jimbo and Grandpa have been friends for a looooong time and the girls just love playing with, Madison, Jimbo's daughter. We hung out and the girls played for awhile before it was time to eat.

Here's Caden hanging out with Grandpa.

Here's Caden hanging out with Grandma.

It was time to eat, and there was live entertainment!

This was the "entertainment". My ears still hurt from their um, eh-hm, harmonies.

It was then time to find the eggs.

Their baskets were over-flowing with eggs. Well, maybe not Caden's but the girls were. Caden was content with the couple he found.

Kendall found her a back-up plan. She grabbed another bucket. She is serious about this game.

After the egg-hunt it was time to play...

...and eat lollipops!

We hung out for a while longer while the girls swam, then wrapped it up. We had a great day.

  1. Hi Amanda! Thanks for stopping by my blog! I'm not sure if we've met before, this is the first time I've been by your blog, I think! I love the bright colors in the Easter photos! The pictures of the girls on the hammock are awesome! We're still trying to warm up to spring here in Minnesota, so the thought of lounging in a hammock is so tempting right now!

I appreciate your encouragement for my birth story dream. I'm confident that one day, it'll go from dream to reality!

I'm jealous of your weather. It was too cold for us to go out on Easter. Boo.
